"Since childhood i do belong to the Sea. I need the contact because it teaches me new lessons over and over" says Patrick Neumann, award winning underwater photographer.
"I started diving as a kid of seven years. My experience grew over the time to now over 35 years and 3200+ dives all over the world.
I was born in Cologne, Germany where i also grew up, went to school, to university and got a job as key account manager in a credit insurance company.
Back in 2007 i quit my well paid job and went to Asia to work on a Liveaboard as instructor & guide to follow my dream to become an underwater photographer and make a living out of it.
Since 2010 i am back in Germany and started my photo business Art Design Photography by Patrick Neumann. Next to magazine work i lead workshops about underwater photography and guide participants through the interaction with wildlife.
When not photographing wildlife i take photos of diving babys in Germany. Yes you hear right, diving babys.
Newborn babys have a reflex which allows them to dive until their 1 birthday.
Maybe you have the Nirvana Cover in mind, just like that.
I take all my underwater images with a Canon Eos 7D in a Hugyfot housing and a Canon 5D Mark IV in a Nauticam housing."
